Number of days: 4 days (3 nights) Price: CHF1,250 Total distance: 362km Total elevation: 6,124m
Day 1 (Thursday June 11) - Geneva to St Gervais
Distance: 75km Ascent: 1481m
Leaving Geneva by mid morning we will ride into the Haute Savoie region of France and head towards the area of Mont Saconnex for lunch. As we ride through the Vallée d'Arve, we will be welcomed by spectacular views of the Massif of the Mont Blanc before our final climb into St Gervais, where we will settle in for the next three nights. We will stay in a charming little hotel called La Feline Blanche, which is centrally located to restaurants, bars and all the action.
Day 2 (Friday June 12) - Col de la Madeleine
Distance: 105km Ascent: 2194m
After a typical French breakfast of croissants and baguette, we will head out of St Gervais via Megeve towards Albertville where we will stop for some lunch. The afternoon will beckon us towards the mythical col de la Madeleine, which has featured on countless occasions in the Tour de France. From the top of the Madeleine we will be able to take in the views before returning home in the comfort of our mini bus. It's a big day in the saddle but when we get back to St Gervais, the thermal baths await us.
Day 3 (Saturday June 13) - Col des Saisies
Distance: 66km Ascent: 1632m
This is a much lighter day of riding compared to the day before. The plan is to be back in St Gervais by early afternoon in time to soak up the atmosphere of the Dauphiné criterium and the arrival of the pro peloton. The Dauphiné has a really informal feel about it as the security is nothing like the bigger grand tours such as the Tour de France. The pros are often very approachable, so you never know who you might end up chatting to.
Day 4 (Sunday June 14) - St Gervais to Geneva
Distance: 116km Ascent: 817m
After watching the start of the Dauphine criterium we say goodbye to St Gervais and head back to Geneva via the Vallee Verte and the medieval town of Yvoire for lunch. Our tour ends after a leisurely ride along the shores of lake Léman and back into Geneva.
